Builder's Risk Insurance and Jobsite Surveillance in Illinois

The policy and carrier control the insurance requirements. A security provider can document a configuration but cannot approve it for the insurer.

Read the Actual Policy

Builder's Risk terms vary by project, policy form, endorsements, location, and carrier. Ask the broker to identify any protective-safeguard, surveillance, fencing, lighting, access-control, monitoring, reporting, or retention requirements in writing.

What a Security Quote Can Document

A site-specific proposal can describe the trailer, camera and alarm options, power and connectivity plan, recording or remote access, selected monitoring arrangement, response steps, service dates, and available incident records. Send that exact description to the broker or carrier for review.

What the Security Provider Cannot Promise

A website cannot determine that equipment satisfies a policy, that a carrier will accept the configuration, or that the premium or deductible will change. Only the authorized insurance parties can make those decisions. Keep their approval with the project records.

Questions for the Broker

  • Which locations and hours require protection?
  • Is recording enough, or is operator monitoring required?
  • What event response and notification steps are required?
  • How long must footage or incident records be retained?
  • Who must approve equipment or scope changes?
